ingredients that sound scary but actually aren't
allantoin is a natural protectant for healing skin and is believed to promote cell regeneration. by stimulating the natural rejuvenation process, allantoin can help reduce acne scarring and promotes a more balanced skin tone.
candelilla/jojoba/rice bran polyglyceryl-3 esters a plant-based wax rich in nutrients, acts as a barrier to help prevent moisture loss. it also binds the rest of our body lotions awesome ingredients to give it a creamy consistency.
caprylyl glycol keeps your products clean while they’re cleaning you! it’s a antimicrobial agent that inhibits the growth of and/or kills microorganisms, as well is a plant-based skin conditioning agent that leaves you feeling soft and sexy while trapping moisture in.
caprylic/capric triglyceride is a mixture of plant sugars that help moisture and vitamins get into the skin and do their magic!
carya ovata bark extract, derived from the common “shangbark hickory” tree found in eastern usa and southeast Canada, is used for its antimicrobial, moisturizing and soothing properties. that’s right, this is the element that keeps you and our product feeling as fresh as possible.
cetearyl alcohol is made from two fatty alcohols that occur naturally in small quantities in plants, and it helps keep the oils from separating. for us, it’s used as a thickening agent for our body lotion.
cocamidopropyl betaine is a fatty acid compound derived from coconut oil. it helps capture dirt and oil to remove it from the skin (and it helps get the best bubbles from our lather!).
ethylene glycol distearate, a compound based on stearic acid, which is a naturally occurring fatty acid in soy, and helps give our body wash its pearly finish. it also makes your skin supple and soft.
gluconolactone hydrates and enhances the skin by boosting collagen. it helps with firming and fighting fine lines and wrinkles, and may help improve the appearance of rosacea.
glyceryl stearate acts as a lubricant on the skin to give it a smooth and soft appearance, by creating a barrier to slow water loss. (so, it’s basically sealing in all of the good stuff you’ll gain by adding our products to your beauty regime.)
glycerin is a sugar alcohol derived from natural sources, like plants and vegetable fats. It helps prevent the loss of moisture from our body care products, too.
hydroxyethylcellulose, plant cellulose thickening agent in our body wash, is responsible for producing big bubbles all over your bod.
jojoba is a natural, plant-derived ingredient used to moisturize, soothe and treat skin.
panthenol, which you know as vitamin b5, is used both as a moisturizer and helps to enhance skin healing.
rice bran polyglyceryl-3 esters a natural mixture of polyglycerin-3, candelilla wax, jojoba seed wax, and rice bran wax that functions as a stabilizer and emulsifier in cosmetics. It is chemically known as a transester because the ingredient contains three different components that are chemically combined to create a new ingredient.
sodium benzoate is a sodium based preservative to make sure nothing nasty grows in your products.
sodium c14-16 olefin sulfonate helps create our bubbles and is a totally lovely cleansing agent. it’s fantastic for loosening dirt, oils and pollutants so they can be rinsed away. we love that it’s derived from coconuts, too.
sodium citrate, used primarily to control the pH level of a product, also has antioxidant and preservative properties.
sodium stearoyl lactylate, a natural emulsifier, helps with moisturization. it’s able to penetrate the top, dead layers of skin to really make you smooth.
xanthan gum, a sugar-based thickening agent
